Stimuli and Habitual Reactions
Sunday June 13th - June19th with Anthony Kingsley:
This course is intended for both teachers and
pupils of the Technique who have an interest in developing
their understanding of the mind-body link.
The focus of this course will work with how Awareness, Choice
and Inhibition can become a constant guide, giving a real
potential for changing patterns.
Morning and evening sessions will be divided between group
workshops and individual lessons. In the workshops, Anthony
will guide the group through certain exercises which initially
help one to recognize, and ultimately learn about reactions
and deep-rooted habits. The form of the workshops allows for
participants to share and explore their experience with the
group. Others may prefer to continue their discoveries in
the privacy of the one to one lessons. Anthony Kingsley completed
his training in 1986, and has studied extensively with several
of the first generation of teachers to be qualified by Alexander.
Since 1990, he has been a teacher trainer at the North London
School of the Alexander Technique, and since 1993 he has been
the director of the Alexander Studio, where he maintains his
private practice.
Anthony previously taught at the Alexander Institute in London
with Dr and Marjory Barlow.
In 2000, Anthony qualified as a psychotherapist. This specialisation
has deepened his understanding of the mind-body link in the
Alexander Technique.
Anthony provides ongoing training for Alexander teachers who
wish to enhance their professional skills. He gives workshops
and seminars on the technique in the United Kingdom and abroad
and also consults to industry and the medical profession on
stress-management, ergonomics, and personal effectiveness.
Cat is very pleased to welcome back Anthony Kingsley to the
Alexander Music School after a successful course in September
2003.
