This course is for musicians and performers looking to overcome nerves, performance anxiety and tension.
The course will include group classes and individual lessons. Each course member will receive a minimum of three individual lessons throughout the week.
In the supportive group environment themes and activities introduced throughout the week will include:
* Pupils reading prepared text, reciting, dancing or playing a musical instrument;
* Awareness of habitual reactions to performing
* Learning to reduce the habitual reactions
* Alexander 'Hands On'
* Exploration of chapters of F M Alexander's 'Constructive Conscious Control' such as 'Unduly Excited Fear Reflexes', 'Psycho-Physical Equilibrium'
* Working with Inhibition
* group discussions re the issues facing a performer
* Time for reflection and relaxation
* Substantial lunch daily at AMS
