'Just Play Naturally' is a series of workshops and individual lessons with Musician and Alexander Technique teacher Vivien Mackie.
This course is for musicians and performers wishing to explore applying Alexander Technique to allow them to play with more freedom and ease.
Each course participant will have a minimum of one individual lesson with Vivien throughout the week.
Limited places for observers, and those just wishing to have Alexander lessons with Vivien (contact Cat Jary for details of prices and availability).
Course will include:
* Playing in class
* Exploring Alexander principles in basic activities such as movement
* 'Hands On'
* Application of Alexander to playing and performing
* Substantial lunch daily at AMS

Vivien Mackie
After having completed formal training at music college, Vivien spent 3 years studying the cello with Pablo Casals.
20 years later, when training to be an Alexander Teacher, Vivien found strong resonances with Casals' lessons.
Vivien is now invited throughout the world, teaching performers her fusion of the principles of Casals' teaching with Alexander.
"Just Play Naturally" is the title of her fascinating book where she recounts what she learnt with Casals, and how she translates that into her Alexander work.

The above timetable is an indication of how the days will be allocated. However, local activities may mean there are slight alterations to advertised times.
There will be at least one afternoon totally free, when a local excursion may be arranged.
