The Tempest String Quartet was founded in Birmingham, UK. The four members of the quartet are all established and experienced musicians in their own right having studied and worked with many of the world’s leading chamber musicians including members of the Lindsays, Amadeus, Chilingirian and Alberni Quartets, Emanuel Hurwitz, Rivka Golani, Douglas Cummings and Peter Thomas.

They have performed in many leading concert venues, both in the UK and abroad. Alongside its regular engagements (most recently for the Birmingham Chamber Music Society and for Music in the Round, Sheffield) the Quartet is strongly committed both to working at all levels of education to foster a deeper appreciation of chamber music, and to bringing performances of the highest professional standards out of the concert hall and into the local community.
