Local flamenco performances
Many previous visitors to AMS have been lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, coming across a spontaneous evening of flamenco music and dance. These evenings happen regularly within the villages of La Taha, but, because they are spontaneous, are not usually publicised in advance! Evenings of flamenco are unique, very powerful and exciting, and thoroughly Andalucian.
Paco, a gypsy flamenco musician, plays at the bar in Ferreirola and they have flamenco guitar and dance seeions.
Flamenco and “Music for the Mountains”
AMS is hoping to incorporate flamenco music into the concert series, ‘Music for the Mountains’. In June/July 2005 local Spanish guitarists and singers will be playing in the voice and lute concert series. However, as “Music for the Mountains” becomes more established, AMS in the near future hopes to invite musicians from all over Andalucia to perform in La Taha.
Flamenco lessons
While at AMS it is possinble to have flamenco guitar lessons with Paco or Jose Ceylon, two of the local gypsy guitarists. Guitarists who have had lessons already have described them as 'a thrilling and unforettable experience'. Flamenco dance lessons are also available for individuals or small groups. |
